Integrated STEM-CS Learning Group

Our team conducted a workshop titled "Cultivating AI Literacy through Integrated Elementary Curriculum via Educational Robotics" at 2025 Nevada STELLAR Pathways Summit: Navigating AI Guidelines in Education organized by the Nevada Department of Education.

This workshop demonstrated how to integrate the engineering design process with machine learning applications (image recognition, audio recognition, and recognition) using Google Teachable Machine, visual block-based coding (Snap!), and Hummingbird robotics kit.

By the end of the workshop, participants had improved their knowledge of coding and machine learning, and they were informed about the Five Big Ideas of AI4K12 (Perception, Representation, Reasoning, Learning, Natural Interaction, and Societal Impact)

Our research group is currently working on developing integrated AI curriculum with funding from National Science Foundation CSforAll Program (Award Number #2434803). We shared the available lessons and materials with the audience.
